    Thank for the nice post.
    According to you I have installed the agent in silent mode on a solaris system. The agent is up and running.
    But I cant’t add it to my GridControl(11g) target. Would you please tell me the procedure?

    Great post! Thanks a lot!!

    I used the Push Method but the installation was not quite clean. I’m running OMS and wanted to install an agent to monitor 11gR2 databases.
    I followed your instructions and it worked like a charm.

    The only error I got was related to SE Linux. The environment I’m working with is Oracle Linux 5.7 x86_64 with SE Linux enabled (Enforced).

    When I ran $AGENT_HOME/bin/emctl status agent (or stop agent or start agent)
    I got the error –

    Oracle Enterprise Manager 11g Release 1 Grid Control
    Copyright (c) 1996, 2010 Oracle Corporation. All rights reserved.
    /u01/app/oracle/OracleHomes/agent11g/bin/emdctl: error while loading shared libraries: /u01/app/oracle/OracleHomes/agent11g/lib/ cannot restore segment prot after reloc: Permission denied

    This behaviour is documented in MOS Note 454196.1

    As user root, I set SE Linux to Permissive mode and that solved the error. (Still need to make that change permanent though…)

    # getenforce -> Enforced
    # setenforce 0
    # getenforce -> Permissive
